There are about 10 lakh government schools in India offering primary education but these schools are in extremely bad shape with some even lacking basic facilities such as electricity & water. The major thought behind the competition is to address the issue of the poor condition of government schools in India through architecture by proposing a "Model School" which can be repeated across the nation. The Brewed Bar - An Urban Coffeehouse Design Challenge

India is usually identified as a tea drinking country, but this is being slowly taken over by coffee as the choice of beverage in some urban centres. MasterPeace - A Meditation & Yoga Retreat Center Design Challenge

An invitation to all designers to design a meditation & yoga center catering its services to max. 500-1000 people. The center should have open & enclosed areas for meditation & yoga. The aim of the competition is to promote such retreat centers which have now become the need of the hour in today’s world. Yoga & Meditation in India were first practiced only by religious monks. Today millions of people worldwide roll out their mats daily to practice and is now a worldwide phenomenon. Dedicated centers & studios for practicing yoga & meditation have added to the popularity of both the art. Meditation & Yoga as a trend are bound to grow at a faster pace as more & more people indulge in these two art in order to find peace & physical fitness.

The Urban Escape - Designing A Community Of Eco - Habitats

An invitation to all designers to design a community of Eco - Habitats. The challenge is to design a community of 50 eco-homes. Each home in the community should be designed keeping in mind all the sustainable aspects. “The Urban Escape” design brief aims to explore innovative & sustainable housing ideas wherein earth , water , food , air and vegetation are considered as the elements of the project. The aim of the brief is to achieve design proposals which are bold, experimental & most importantly functional. Let us all try to bring a change and create a new category of housing which has all the features of an “Urban” home but at the same time the community experience is “Rural”.

The Iconic Indian Pavilion - Design A Pavilion Representing A Nation of 1.3 Billion

An invitation to all designers to design a pavilion for India for future world expo. Expo’s are a catalyst of change, a platform for nation branding and a window to international dialogue & a new world. World Expo's are aimed at educating the public, sharing innovation, finding solutions to pressing challenges of our time by offering a journey inside a universal theme through engaging and immersive activities. Architecturally EXPO’s are fascinating. The aim is to design a pavilion for India on a plot of a maximum of 7,000 sqm.

Pin Up Gallery - Design A Dedicated Jury Space

An invitation to all designers to a dedicated area which can host architecture juries/viva & pin up of other subjects. The aim of the competition is to develop a module of “Jury Space” which is innovative bold & dynamic , multifunctional , aesthetically appealing & most importantly it should be functional & user friendly. Over the course of 5 years, each student approximately pin’s up his/her work for approximately more than 50 times for juries & viva. In most cases we end up with pin up in our studios , in an empty hall or along the corridors. But here is one thing, none of these spaces are designed to host a jury in first place. The entire 5 years of the degree we are taught about space organization but when it comes to our own Pin – Up areas do you think we have done anything over the years ? May be your design can be the solution of this for the present & upcoming generation of architecture students.

The Habitat : 2.0 - Rethinking Student Housing in India

An invitation to all designers to design a innovative Student Community Living in India. A Student Community Living concept is something we are trying to achieve through this design brief. A community where a student has a range of living options to choose from , as per his/her requirements , an accommodation that comes loaded with complimentary facilities such as fitness centeres , laundry services , air conditioners , food courts , play grounds , gardens & much more , a community which respects individuality but at the same time is very flexibe such that it blurs the threshold between indoors & outdoors and a community that is not only aethestically pleasing but is also functional , sustainable & fulfills the physcial & psychological needs of students.
